Collection Requirements

Acceptable Specimen Type: Formalin - Fixed, Paraffin embedded tissue (FFPE)

Please send either a paraffin block or two H&E recuts and 3 unstained paraffin sections from the same paraffin block. Preferably, the tissue should contain both areas of tumor and normal brain, but just tumor is acceptable as well (Please send a whole blood EDTA tube if only tumor is available on the FFPE sample). Include a copy of the pathology report. If a neuropathology consultation is requested in addition to a 1p/19q LOH test, send all microscopic slides, a representative paraffin block, brief clinical history, and preoperative radiology report or MRI scans on a CD.
