Specimen Requirements
| Collection Requirements | Container: Lavender (EDTA) collection
tube or serum separator tube (SST) Specimen Type: Plasma or Serum Preferred Collection Volume: 1.5 mL Minimum Collection Volume: 1.0 mL Specimen must be spun within 24 hours of collection to remove plasma or serum from the cells. Plasma may be stored at 2-8C for up to 72 hours or frozen at -70C or colder for up to 6 weeks. Send specimen frozen and on dry Ice. Specimen Handling: Rejection Criteria: Heparinized specimen.
