Acceptable Specimen Types: Plasma

Peripheral Blood: Collect 1.0 mL (minimum 0.6 mL) in Lavender (K2 EDTA)

Spin down whole blood to remove plasma within 8 hours. Send refrigerated.

Specimen Stability

Unrefrigerated plasma must be received <24 hours after separation. Refrigerated plasma must be received < 2 week after plasma separation.

Rejection Criteria

 

1.) Specimens drawn in heparin will be rejected due to heparin's inhibitory nature to Taq Polymerase.
